Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how PoweredNZ uses them, and how you can manage your preferences.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit them. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how you use the site. Some cookies are temporary (session cookies) and are deleted when you close your browser, while others remain on your device for a set period (persistent cookies).

2. Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the site to function properly. They cannot be disabled.

Cookie Purpose Duration
Firebase session token Authenticates installers who are signed in to the Installer Portal Session
cookie-consent Remembers your cookie consent preference 1 year

3. Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with PoweredNZ so we can improve the experience. These cookies are only set if you opt in via the cookie banner.

Cookie Purpose Duration
Google Analytics 4 (via Firebase Analytics) Collects anonymous usage data such as pages visited, time on site, and general location (country/region) Up to 2 years

When you choose "Essential Only" on the cookie banner, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected.

4. Third-Party Cookies

PoweredNZ does not use advertising or tracking cookies from third parties. The only third-party cookies that may be set are Google Analytics cookies, and only when you have opted in to analytics.

5. Managing Cookies

Changing your analytics preference

You can change your cookie preference at any time by clicking the "Cookie Preferences" button in the website footer. This will re-display the cookie consent banner so you can update your choice.

Browser settings

You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View what cookies are stored and delete them individually
  • Block third-party cookies
  • Block all cookies
  • Clear all cookies when you close the browser

Please note that blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working correctly, particularly the Installer Portal login.

For instructions on managing cookies in common browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and Website Data
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions

6. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
